Bsc Radio Imaging Technology

Vision of department:

The vision of the Medical Laboratory Science program is to recruit, educate, and prepare highly competent Paramedical scientists to serve their patients and the healthcare profession while demonstrating high ethical and moral standards and the utmost in technical competence.

Mission of the department:

M1: Provide conscientious, caring, skilled medical laboratory scientists. As a result, these students are highly capable of comprehending, practicing, and furthering medical laboratory science, while meeting healthcare needs in the region.

M2: Provide an appropriate combination of didactic and clinical experiences. Above all, we do this so that the students will develop competency in the skills needed to meet challenges of the profession.

M3: Provide a stimulating atmosphere for students, faculty and laboratory staff. Thus, our students develop the desire for learning and the development of new knowledge to respond to changing demands of the profession.

M4: Maintain a source of professionals who participate in bringing new knowledge to the clinical laboratories.

 

Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs):

PEO1-Students will be able to learn the terminology of the subject and basic knowledge of cells, tissues, blood and to understand anatomy and physiology of human body. This subject will develop an understanding of the structure and function of organs and organ systems in normal human body.

PEO2-Students are able to classify, identify, use of  radiological techniques for detailed information of human body.

PEO3-Students will be able to learn the terminology of the subject and basic knowledge of cells, tissues, blood and to understand anatomy and physiology of human body

 

Programme Specific Outcomes (PSOs):

PSO1: The student will learn principles of tomography imaging with different modalities such as x ray, PET and SPECT, NMR/MRI, ultra sound and optical with non-diffracting and diffracting energy sources.

 PSO2: Learn principles of non-invasive medical imaging techniques and non destructive techniques for industrial imaging.

PSO3: Various types of data acquisition in tomography - parallel beam, fan-beam and cone-beam as well as circular and helical trajectories of the source and detectors.

 PSO4: Learn transform domain non-iterative 2D and 3D reconstruction techniques for non diffracting radiation sources

Title of the Course: Interventional in Diagnostic Radiology

Course Outcomes:

CO1: Good familiarity and adequate skills in performing / interpreting vascular imaging modalities (Doppler, CT angiograms, MR angiograms, MRI)

CO2: Work up of cases and decide on feasibility for intervention.

CO3: Active involvement in the inter-departmental discussions.

Course Outcomes:

CO1:Students understand will importance of environment education
