In order to supplement student learning for industry readiness and to understand the application areas of the curriculum contents interaction of the students with farmer and industry is necessary. These interactions increase the inter-personal communication and ensure a dynamic character to the curriculum, in order to align the curriculum with the ever-changing needs of the society with reference to selected courses Rural Agriculture Work Experience (RAWE) training is bifurcated into two components village attachment and industrial attachment. Students while undergoing this training adopt scientific approach, analytical skill, self-confidence for independent project work. Students are associated with various organizations to complete the trainings under guidance and expertise of professionals. Various Govt. and Pvt. Cultural Diversification

Department have articulated the value of diversity. Having a diverse group of students from Manipur, Mizoram, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Orissa, Leh Ladakh, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab and international student from Nepal, simply means recognizing that all the people are unique in their own way. Diversity improves the “intellectual engagement, self-motivation, citizenship, and cultural engagement, and academic skills like critical thinking, problem-solving, and writing – for students of all races.

Business Incubation/ Entrepreneurial Activities

The department aims at promoting integration of teaching, training and innovation to promote productivity in agriculture by promoting entrepreneurship. The department has developed Agri and Food Incubator under flagship of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Campus (IEDC). The Incubator focuses on capacity building through counseling, training and business advisory services. In order to achieve these various activities have been conducted such as workshops seminars and trainings of students with various organizations that are involved in developing startups such as Micro Small Medium Enterprise (MSME), Startup Punjab chd. Students are given platform to be shared with angel investors, people with failed enterprise and successful businessman, farmer entrepreneurs, agri-startups for starting, running and sustaining the business in different areas of agriculture with the emphasis on product development, Product Quality Assurance, Certification, Branding and Marketing of different products, IPR, so that students can get a fair idea for lacunae and build their strategy accordingly.

Agrim Club & Activities

To make the educational institution socially and culturally relevant, AGRIM Club was formed by the students of Agriculture for the students of Agriculture. Various educational and extracurricular activities have been carried out under this club. Brief go through activities conducted so far are given below:

Industrial Visits

Educating through experiential learning include interaction with experts, visits to farms and fields of farmers, guest lectures, exhibitions, slogan writing, declamation contest, speech competition on latest issues are being conducted. Interactivity is focused on critical thinking and development of problem solving aptitude in students. For attainment of the above purpose various seminars, trainings, workshops are arranged in each academic session to co relate theory aspect with practical ground realities. Field work is emphasized more for learning.

Students are actively involved in Agriculture extension services that develops skills comprising the first competency of managing community engagement. In order to achieve the objective Kisan Mela is being conducted every year since 2018. Farmers, Agricultural experts, progressive farmers and agricultural Govt official participate in the event. Stalls are displayed. Students accompany the faculty for experts talk that are delivered in the villages that are adopted by the University. Soil testing is also being conducted by the students.

Students actively participate in no of Community Engagemnet Programme guiding the farmers about impact of stubble Burning,Sustainable Agriculture, more focus on Ecofriendly and Environmental stability.
