Faculty of Allied Health Sciences & Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences organized Alumni Meet 2023 at Desh Bhagat University

Agrim Club of the Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences and Paratopia Club of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, in association with the Alumni Association of Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh, Punjab, organized the 2023 Alumni Meet on January 14, 2023.

The event was initiated with the registration of alumni, followed by a floral welcome of Vice Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh by Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, vice President of Desh Bhagat University. Dr. H.K. Sidhu, Professor of Agriculture and Life Sciences, presented a floral welcome to the Vice President. It was followed by traditional lamp lighting and the DBU anthem. Thereafter, Dr. H.K. Sidhu formally welcomed the dignitaries and explained in detail about the Alumni Association of the University. She guided the alumni by explaining that we have different chapters in Canada, Jammu, Kashmir, and Delhi. In her brief address, she also discussed the operation of the alumni association. The event proceeded further with different cultural events and performances, both by students and by alumni. Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, Vice President, Desh Bhagat University, motivated the alumni for active engagements in the alumni association of the university. He emphasized that alumni are the real wealth of the university, and the success of any university is clearly reflected in the placements and settlements of its alumni. The vice president gathered the alumni, faculty, and students for the venture. Alumni enjoyed the games and dancing to various beats of Punjabi, Himachali, and Kashmiri songs. Dr. Deepinderpal Singh, professor of agriculture and life sciences, also guided students about the job opportunities for them in various fields such as paramedical sciences, physiotherapy, and agriculture.

The event proceeded further with a cake-mixing ceremony and token gifts to alumni. Dr. Simranjeet Kaur, Department of Physiotherapy, focused her vote of thanks address on the university’s role in reaching new heights. She thanked management, the hospitality department, students, IT, media persons, alumni, and faculty. The event concluded with the National Anthem, followed by a gathering of alumni and lunch.
