DESH BHAGAT UNIVERSITY CELEBRATED ITS 10^TH FOUNDATION DAY
On October 22, 2022, Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh celebrated its 10th Foundation Day with a lot of enthusiasm and fervor. Dr. Zora Singh, the honorary Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University, along with Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur, President Dr. Sandeep Singh, Vice Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh, and honorary guests Dr. D. S. Grewal; Dr. Achru Singh, professor emeritus; Mr. Hardev Singh; Vice President Dr. Harsh Sadawarti; Dr. L. S. Bedi, Dean Academics; and Dr. Charanjit Kaur Sohi, registrar of Desh Bhagat University, graced the occasion.

On the foundation day, Dr. D. S. Grewal, a former director of research at Desh Bhagat University, released his book on the Life, Journey, and Teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. All of the religious sites that Dr. Grewal describes in this book were visited by him personally. The letter of recognition from the World Book of Records, London, for Chancellor Sir’s beloved father and the creator of Desh Bhagat University, Sardar Lal Singh Ji, was also made public at the same time. The World Book of Records recognized Sardar Laal Singh Ji’s unrivalled contributions to national integrity, social reform, and education with this posthumous honour, as well as his role as a freedom fighter for Indian independence. Sardar Lal Singh Ji, a prominent Indian freedom fighter, was given the Tamara Pattra award by Mrs. Indira Gandhi, the country’s former prime minister. He was also associated with Subhash Chander Bose.

On this occasion, Desh Bhagat University also gave thanks to a few of its staff members who have worked there for more than 20 years. There were also Mr. Kirti Sharma, Dr. D.S. Grewal, Dr. Achru Singh, Dr. Ved Prakash Upadhayay, and Dr. Dimple Sharma. Mr. Hardev Singh, Dr. Shalini Gupta, a former vice chancellor, and Dr. Achru Singh were also there. 

It was followed by the cultural program. The spirit of the students was high when they presented cultural performances such as singing, folk dance, and fashion show etc.

In his address, Dr. Zora Singh, Honourable Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University, congratulated everyone and gave best wishes on the 10th foundation day of the university. He also recognized the university’s accomplishments in the areas of business, innovation, and research.
