Faculty of Nursing. Desh Bhagat University. Mandi Gobindgarh, observed World Cancer Day on February 3. 2023, at District Hospital Fatehgarh Sahib with the collaboration of the Himalayan Foundation (Himalaya Club Trust). The theme for World Cancer Day 2023 was “Close the Care Gap.” Students of B.Sc. Nursing 3rd Semester and GNM 1st Year, Faculty of Nursing. Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh) provided awareness to people regarding cancer through a rally. The rally raised awareness that cancer is the second-leading cause of death globally, because most cancer cases are discover at a late stage, when therapies are less successful and patients have worse results.

M.SC. and B.SC. students raised awareness of World Cancer Day among B.SC. I and II semester students. Students also participated in the symposium. The event coordinators were Mr. Puneet Gill, assistant professor, Ms. Dilpreet Kaur Sohi nursing tutor, and Ms. Simranjeet Kaur, nursing tutor. Event was proceed under the Guidance and support of Prof. Lovesampuranjot Kaur, Officiating Principal, Faculty of Nursing, Desh Bhagat University and Prof. Prabhjot Singh , HOD, Community Health Nursing.
