The School of Hotel Management and Tourism (SOHMT) at Desh Bhagat University successfully organized an insightful Guest Lecture on “Operations in Flight Kitchen” by Chef Tahseen Hussan from Oman Airways Catering. The session aimed to enhance students’ understanding of the intricate processes and professional standards involved in airline catering operations.

The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, who delivered an inspiring address to the students. He emphasized the importance of skill development, industry exposure, and maintaining professionalism to build a successful career in the hospitality sector. His motivational words deeply encouraged the students to work with passion and dedication.

The program was conducted with the blessings and visionary guidance of Hon’ble Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh and Hon’ble Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur, whose constant encouragement continues to inspire students and faculty to strive for excellence and community engagement.

During the lecture, Chef Tahseen Hussan shared his vast international experience and practical knowledge of flight kitchen operations, food safety, quality management, and menu planning. His engaging presentation and interactive approach made the session highly informative and inspiring for all participants.
Dr. Aman Sharma, Director, School of Hotel Management and Tourism, also addressed the gathering with motivating and interactive words. A practical session followed the lecture at the SOHMT Restaurant, where students, under the expert guidance of Chef Tahseen Hussan, prepared the famous Middle Eastern dessert “Basbousa.” This hands-on demonstration provided valuable experiential learning in international dessert preparation and kitchen coordination.
The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. Nivedita, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to Hon’ble Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh, Hon’ble Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, Chef Tahseen Hussan, and all faculty members for their continuous support and encouragement.
