World Pharmacist Day 2026
The Faculty of PharmacyDesh Bhagat University celebrated World Pharmacist Day 2026 with great enthusiasm at the Mahapragya Seminar Hall. The programme was organized by the Placebo Club, School of Pharmacy, S. Lal Singh Memorial College of Pharmacy & Mata Jarnail Kaur College of Pharmacy, in collaboration with the Indian Pharmacy Graduates Association (IPGA), Punjab State Branch, IIC and IQAC, Desh Bhagat University.

The celebration was organized on the theme “Empowering Pharmacists for Healthier Futures”, with the sub-theme “Swastha Bharat: Combating Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR)”. The programme aimed to highlight the significant role of pharmacists in healthcare, patient safety, rational use of medicines and combating antimicrobial resistance.

The programme was graced by the presence of Hon’ble Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University, Dr. Tejinder Kaur, Pro-Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University and Dr. Harsh Sadawarti , Vice Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University. Their presence and guidance encouraged the students and faculty members to actively participate in the celebrations.

The distinguished Guests of Honour included Prof. (Dr.) Suresh Kumar, President, IPGA Punjab State Branch and Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Drug Research, Punjabi University, Patiala, and Mr. Supreet Singh, Founder & CEO, Psychocare Health Pvt. Ltd., Chandigarh. Dr. Ashwani Kumar, Executive Member, IPGA Punjab State Branch and Associate Professor, University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Panjab University, Chandigarh, served as the Resource Person for the programme.
A series of engaging activities and competitions were organized for the students, including Model Making Competition, E-Poster Making Competition, Quiz Competition. The activities witnessed enthusiastic participation from the students and provided them with an opportunity to showcase their creativity, knowledge and teamwork while spreading awareness about the role of pharmacists and antimicrobial resistance.
The winners of various competitions were felicitated with trophies in recognition of their outstanding performance and enthusiastic participation. The felicitation ceremony added further excitement and motivation among the students.
On the occasion, Dr. Puja Gulati, Director, School of Pharmacy, Desh Bhagat University, extended her gratitude to the Hon’ble Chancellor, Pro-Chancellor, distinguished guests, resource person, faculty members, organizers and students for their valuable contribution to the successful conduct of the event. She also delivered the Vote of Thanks, expressing appreciation to all those who supported and participated in the World Pharmacist Day celebrations.
The event concluded with a renewed commitment towards strengthening the role of pharmacists in promoting safe, effective and responsible use of medicines and contributing towards a healthier society and a Swastha Bharat.
