Occasion: Celebration of the success of Operation Sindoor

To pay tribute to the Indian Armed Forces and instill patriotic spirit

Flag Hoisting Ceremony led by Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh, Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur, Adviser Dr. Virinder Singh, and Vice Chancellor Dr. Harsh Sadawarti
National Anthem and “Jai Hind March” with enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and staff
Slogans chanted:
“Operation Sindoor – Bharat Ka Jawab Nahin भारत का जवाब!” and “Desh Bhagat salutes our heroes!“
Tribute:
Honoring Sardar Lal Singh Ji, freedom fighter and father of Dr. Zora Singh, awarded Tamra Patra in 1972

Dr. Zora Singh emphasized the university’s foundation in patriotism and the everyday use of “Jai Hind” as a greeting
Dr. Harsh Sadawarti highlighted DBU students as torchbearers of the armed forces’ legacy and national service

- Blood donation camp in collaboration with the Army
Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh, paid a heartfelt tribute to the Indian Armed Forces through its “Jai Hind – Nation First” celebration, commemorating the success of Operation Sindoor. The event featured a dignified flag hoisting ceremony led by university leadership, followed by the national anthem and a spirited “Jai Hind March” with slogans echoing national pride. A special tribute was paid to Sardar Lal Singh Ji, a decorated freedom fighter and father of Dr. Zora Singh, whose legacy of patriotism continues to inspire the university. In their addresses, Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh and Vice Chancellor Dr. Harsh Sadawarti reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to nationalism and service. To further instill this spirit, upcoming initiatives such as an essay competition, a defence webinar, and a blood donation camp were announced.
