Pharm D:  Pharm D is professional pharmacy doctoral programme of 6 years duration which include 5yrs of academic study and 1 year of internship. The aims of the course are to prepare graduate who will have the capacity, knowledge, strong ethical values, behaviour, communication, writing and social skills in pharmaceutical care in health system, community environment, pharmaceutical industry, research and development. The 6 Year Pharm D program is aimed at creating skilled and competent Pharmaceutical Research Professionals, Clinical Scientists, Academicians, Entrepreneur and Clinical Pharmacists.

Masters: The M. Pharm program (Specialization in Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Chemistry) at School of pharmacy, Desh Bhagat University Mandi, Gobindgrah provides advanced education and cutting-edge training to prepare students for research and leadership positions in pharmaceutical companies.

The 2-Year, full-time program, integrates basic and applied pharmaceutical sciences with hands-on laboratory research experience, and prepare students desiring expertise in drug development. This program serves as a logical next step for students with bachelor degree in science who may be seeking employment in the pharmaceutical industry. The 2-Year M. Pharm program aims at creating skilled and competent Pharmaceutical Research Professionals, Technology Analysts, Pre-Clinical & Clinical Scientists, Academicians, Pharma Corporate Executive & Entrepreneur and Clinical Pharmacists.

B Pharmacy: A demanding academic environment is offered by Desh Bhagat University Mandi Gobindgarh, where you can explore career alternatives, gain practical knowledge, and establish yourself as a leader in both your community and profession. Our four-year undergraduate Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Sciences program is designed for highly motivated students who want to work in the biomedical, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology industries. The curriculum covers every stage of the pharmaceutical life cycle, from research and development to regulation, and from translation to patient outcomes and care.

Our program, which is industry-aligned, prepares students to become model practitioners by combining experience and theoretical learning in a seamless manner. The required real-world internship sharpens their abilities and familiarizes them with modern industrial methods, innovations, and practical difficulties. Because of this, our graduates are prepared for the workforce and can easily find employment in a variety of settings, including hospitals, patent cells, IPR sections, clinical research organizations, retail pharmacies, and other establishments that are looking for skilled workers.

The 4 major specialisation areas are:

  • PHARMACEUTICS – Overview of Pharmacy and its applications in drug formulation, delivery and dispensing through various theory and practical subjects such as General Pharmacy, Pharm. Engineering, Microbiology, Biopharmaceutics.
  • PHARMACOLOGY – Knowledge of clinical and physiological aspects, and their applications in studying the correlation of drugs and human body through theory and practical subjects such as Anatomy Physiology and Pathophysiology, General Pharmacology, Clinical Pharmacology, etc.
  • PHARMACEUTICAL CHEMISTRY – Knowledge of Chemistry of drug molecules, their preparation, synthesis, characteristics, analysis and application in Pharmacy. Includes theory and practical subjects such as Organic & Inorganic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Biochemistry, etc.
  • PHARMACOGNOSY – Study of natural products as the source of drugs and their applications in Pharma industry through different theory and practical subjects of Pharmacognosy.

Program Specific Objectives (PSOs)

PSO1: Perform research on various medical aspects and implement the Pharmaceutical knowledge in formulating the best suitable dosage form to provide high quality medicines to the society.

PSO2: Render the services to the public by providing patient centric effective treatments to curb the therapeutic issues with the required medicines and explain the effects of the drugs by analysing the scientific literature for improving their health and well-being.
