Workshop: Art of Sushi Making
School of Hotel Management & Tourism, Desh Bhagat University successfully organized a unique culinary workshop titled “Art of Sushi Culinary: Hands-on Workshop” on 21st November 2025. The session featured renowned culinary professional Chef Anmol Gupta from Niyat Hospitality Solutions, who trained students in authentic sushi-making techniques, ingredients, plating styles, and the rich cultural heritage behind Japanese cuisine.

The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Hon’ble Chancellor, Dr. Zora Singh, and Hon’ble Pro-Chancellor, Dr. Tajinder Kaur, who encouraged and blessed the students with inspiring words.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Zora Singh emphasized the importance of global culinary exposure, stating that “International culinary skills open doors to global career opportunities. Students should embrace such learning experiences to excel worldwide.”
Dr. Tajinder Kaur appreciated the hands-on nature of the event and added, “Skill-based education is at the heart of holistic learning. Workshops like this help students explore creativity, discipline, and cultural appreciation in cuisine.”She motivated students to continue learning with dedication and passion.

The workshop was efficiently coordinated and managed under the able leadership of Dr. Rupinder Kaur, with support from faculty members Mr. Gurkiran Singh Mann, Ms. Nivedita, and Ms. Srishti, whose efforts ensured a seamless and enriching learning experience.

Director, Dr. Aman Sharma, acknowledged the workshop as a platform that enhances practical culinary exposure and strengthens professional competencies aligned with international standards. He expressed gratitude to Chef Anmol Gupta and the organizing team for their contributions in elevating students’ learning experiences.
The session concluded with an interactive Q&A discussion, where students received personalized guidance from the resource person, gaining insight into professional sushi craftsmanship and emerging trends in the global food industry.
