Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh, hosted the Grand Progressive Farmers’ Meet-2025 along with the International Conference on Future Farming Innovations, Entrepreneurship & Technology, complemented by an Exhibition and Stalls. Organised by the Agrim Club, Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences, in association with IQAC, the event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of nearly 200 progressive farmers from DBU-adopted villages and neighbouring regions. The program began with a warm reception of Hon’ble Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh, Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur, Chief Guest Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, Vice Chancellor and Guest of Honour, along with other dignitaries. Prof. (Dr.) H. K. Sidhu delivered the welcome address, highlighting DBU’s commitment to empowering the farming community through education, research and innovation. Hon’ble Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh emphasised the importance of sustainable, technology-driven agricultural practices. Eminent experts including Dr. A. S. Gill, Dr. Ranjit Singh and Dr. Buta Singh delivered insightful talks on modern farming techniques, seed advancements and government initiatives. A vibrant Giddha performance by students of the Faculty of Education added cultural vibrancy to the event. An interactive session with progressive farmers showcased inspiring success stories, featuring S. Gurwinder Singh, S. Darshan Singh Babbi, S. Balvir Singh Jaria, S. Ravneet Singh, S. Paramjit Singh and S. Palwinder Singh. The event also included felicitation of distinguished guests and progressive farmers for their contributions to agricultural development.
