Aim or Objective:

 Educate the public about the pharmacist’s role in health promotion, disease prevention,
and safe medicine use.

 Showcase how pharmacists improve patient care, medication safety, and overall health
outcomes.

 Strengthen the image of pharmacists as accessible, reliable, and integral members of the
healthcare team.

 Emphasize the importance of teamwork between pharmacists and other healthcare
professionals for better healthcare delivery.

The Placebo Club, Faculty of Pharmacy, Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh,
organized a special event on World Pharmacist Day–2025 on the theme “Think Health, Think
Pharmacist” on 26th September 2025. The celebration witnessed enthusiastic participation
from students and faculty members of the School of Pharmacy, S. Lal Singh Memorial College
of Pharmacy, and Mata Jarnail K. College of Pharmacy.

As part of the occasion, a series of engaging activities were conducted. A rally was organized to
create public awareness about the pharmacist’s role in healthcare, while the Model Making
Competition encouraged students to present innovative ideas and solutions. The
Oration/Declamation Competition gave participants a platform to express their perspectives on
the profession’s importance. A Short Video Competition along with various cultural activities
creatively showcased the theme, promoting awareness, innovation, and collaboration among
students.

The event was inaugurated by Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University, who
inspired students to embrace innovation and entrepreneurial opportunities. A warm welcome
address was delivered by Dr. Puja Gulati, Principal, School of Pharmacy, who extended
greetings to the dignitaries, faculty, and students.

A highlight of the program was a special expert talk, where students gained valuable insights
into the pharmacist’s role, the career pathway of a Drug Inspector, and professional growth
opportunities. The session was enriched by the Guest of Honour, Dr. Santosh Jindal, Drug
Control Officer, Sangrur, Punjab, who shared his entrepreneurial journey and motivated
students to shape their careers with confidence and vision.

On this occasion, Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University,
delivered an inspiring lecture emphasizing the indispensable role of pharmacists in healthcare,
patient safety, and community well-being. His address left a lasting impression, encouraging
students to uphold the dignity, responsibility, and professional values of pharmacy.
The program concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Puja Gulati, who
expressed heartfelt gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty, and students for their active participation
and contribution to making the event a grand success.

Outcomes of the Event:

 Students and faculty gained a deeper understanding of the pharmacist’s role in health
promotion, disease prevention, and medication safety.

 Participants received valuable insights into the pathway of becoming a Drug Inspector
and explored diverse career opportunities in pharmacy.
