Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh, hosted an enriching orientation programme for over 100 newly enrolled Ph.D. scholars, including a prominent group of international students, on 12 September at the Mahapragya Hall. Organized by the Directorate of Research, the event commenced with an inspiring address by Vice-Chancellor Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, who emphasized the importance of innovation, leadership, and impactful research. The inaugural session was graced by Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh and Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur, both of whom welcomed the scholars and encouraged them to engage in research that addresses societal challenges. Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Amarjit Singh elaborated on the university’s research ecosystem, while Director Research Prof. Ajay Gupta gave an in-depth overview of the Ph.D. lifecycle, including paid teaching assistantships available to scholars.
