Aim:

To celebrate the spirit of independence by paying tribute to the sacrifices and struggles
that secured our nation’s freedom, while fostering a sense of unity, responsibility, and inspiration
to build a brighter, progressive future for generations to come.

Placebo Club, Faculty of Pharmacy, Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh proudly
celebrated Independence Day 2025 in collaboration with IIC (Institution Innovation
Committee) on inspiring theme “Honoring Freedom, Inspiring the Future”, paying heartfelt
tribute to the brave freedom fighters whose sacrifices paved the way for our nation’s liberty. The
event aimed to foster patriotism, unity, and a sense of responsibility among citizens, especially
the youth, towards building a progressive and harmonious future.
The celebration featured a vibrant lineup of activities, beginning with a documentary screening
highlighting the nation’s struggle for independence and milestones since freedom. Students
showcased their talent and love for the country through patriotic dances and a thought-provoking
skit portraying the values of courage and unity. A reel-making competition encouraged creative
digital storytelling on themes of patriotism, while soulful patriotic songs filled the air with
national pride.

The event concluded with a collective resolve to honor the legacy of our freedom fighters by
contributing actively towards nation-building, ensuring that the flame of freedom continues to
inspire generations ahead
The event was inaugurated by the guest Chancellor, Dr. Zora Singh, Pro Chancellor, Dr. Tejinder
Kaur, Vice Chancellor Dr. Harsh Sadawarti of Desh Bhagat University and welcome address
given by Dr. Shailash Kumar Gupta, Principal, S. Lal Singh Memorial College of Pharmacy and
Ms. Khuspal, Principal, Mata Jarnail K College of Pharmacy. Certificates were awarded to the
winners. All the faculty members and students worked hard for the success of this activity. At the
end of the event, Dr. Puja Gualti, Principal of School of Pharmacy delivered a vote of thanks to
all the participants, students and faculty.
