Desh Bhagat University Signs MoUs with IKGPTU and SBSSU

Desh Bhagat University (DBU) has signed MoUs with two prominent state technical universities: IKGPTU, Kapurthala and SBSSU, Ferozepur.

The agreements aim to enhance technological development and optimize resource utilization.

MoUs were signed by:
  • Dr. Susheel Mittal, Vice Chancellor of IKGPTU and SBSSU
  • Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, Vice Chancellor of DBU
  • Dr. Mittal highlighted DBU’s strategic location in Mandi Gobindgarh, a global hub for iron and steel, and its potential in mechanical and product development training.
Dr. Parveen Bansal, Dean R&D at DBU, emphasized:
  • Utilization of IKGPTU’s modern automobile and mechanical labs
  • Collaborative research opportunities in biosensors
  • Joint development of Allied Health Sciences and paramedical curricula

Dr. Balkar Singh (Dean, College Development, IKGPTU) and Dr. Rajeev Bedi (Associate Dean, Research) expressed full support for academic and technical collaboration.

Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor of DBU, termed the MoU a strategic step to provide students access to state-of-the-art government labs and foster industry-relevant skills.

Mandi Gobindgarh, July 18: Desh Bhagat University (DBU) has taken a significant step towards advancing technological development and resource optimization by signing Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with two leading state technical universities—IKGPTU, Kapurthala, and SBSSU, Ferozepur. The MoUs were signed by Dr. Susheel Mittal, an eminent academician who serves as the Vice Chancellor of IKGPTU and holds additional charge of Vice Chancellor, SBSSU, and Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, Vice Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University.

Dr. Mittal commended DBU’s location in the industrial heartland of Mandi Gobindgarh, an internationally renowned iron and steel hub, and recognized its potential in training future mechanical and product development engineers. Dr. Parveen Bansal, Dean of Research and Development at DBU, underlined the value of IKGPTU’s cutting-edge automobile and mechanical labs for DBU students and proposed collaborative research in biosensors—an area gaining momentum post-COVID19. He also suggested joint initiatives in curriculum development for Allied Health Sciences and paramedical programs.

Dr. Balkar Singh, Dean of College Development at IKGPTU, and Dr. Rajeev Bedi, Associate Dean of Research, welcomed the partnership and assured comprehensive cooperation in leveraging academic and technical resources.
