Placebo Club, Faculty of Pharmacy, Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh in collaboration with IIC and IQAC came together to have “Expert talk” on the theme of “How to prepare students for Interview”, on 7^th April, 2025. The covered key areas such as resume building, interview skills, mock interviews, and common interview questions. Emphasis was also laid on body language, effective communication, and confidence building.

The event was  inaugurated by Dr. Puja Gulati, Principal, School of Pharmacy and floral welcome was given by Dr. Shailesh Kumar Gupta Principal of S. Lal Singh Memorial College of Pharmacy, Desh Bhagat University to Expert Mr. Varun Lamba, Soft Skills Trainer. Students of B. Pharm 8^th semester and M. Pharmacy students gained practical knowledge of interview preparation, including resume writing, answering common questions, and presenting themselves confidently. They learned the importance of effective communication, positive body language, and self-assurance.

Expert Mr. Varun Lamba is a highly experienced Soft Skills and Personality Development Trainer with over 12 years in the field. He has successfully trained more than 1500 faculty members, 5000 college students, and 2500 school students. Currently at Gulzar Group of Institutes, he specializes in communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. His training style combines practical application with personalized feedback, ensuring impactful learning. He has also conducted corporate training at Paul Hyundai and holds certifications like Train the Trainer (NIST) and NLP Practitioner. Mr. Lamba is passionate about empowering individuals and driving professional growth.

At the end of the event, vote of thanks was given by Ms. Khushpal Principal of Mata Jarnail K College of Pharmacy.

Outcomes of the events:

The expert talk effectively enhanced students’ understanding of interview processes and boosted their confidence through practical insights and mock interview sessions. Participants gained hands-on experience in resume building, answering common interview questions, and improving non-verbal communication, preparing them for real-world placement opportunities. The session was well-received and contributed significantly to the students’ career readiness.
