Report:

On 28th February 2025, the School of Pharmacy, S. Lal Singh Memorial College of Pharmacy, and Mata Jarnail Kaur College of Pharmacy organized an expert talk on the topic “Achieving Problem-Solution Fit and Product-Market Fit in the Pharmacy Profession.” This session, conducted by the Faculty of Pharmacy, Desh Bhagat University in collaboration with Institution Innovative Council, aimed to inspire the next generation of business leaders in the pharmacy sector.

The program commenced with a warm welcome by Ms. Rajni, Associate Professor at the School of Pharmacy. In her speech, she emphasized the importance of adapting to the rapidly evolving healthcare landscape. She explained that pharmacies must prioritize achieving Problem-Solution Fit and Product-Market Fit to provide high-quality care and remain competitive. These two concepts are crucial in aligning pharmacy services with patient needs while ensuring market relevance.

Prof. Dr. Anil Joshi, a distinguished faculty member from the Department of Ayurveda at Desh Bhagat University, delivered the expert talk. He discussed how Problem-Solution Fit involves understanding and addressing the unique health challenges faced by patients. By personalizing medication therapies, offering patient education, and optimizing medication use, pharmacists can improve therapeutic outcomes and ensure patient safety. This approach leads to better adherence to treatment plans, stronger patient-pharmacist relationships, and enhanced patient satisfaction and trust.

Dr. Joshi further elaborated on Product-Market Fit, which refers to aligning pharmacy services or products with the broader market demand. He highlighted how pharmacies must adapt to meet evolving patient needs, whether through expanding access to medications, offering tele pharmacy services, or providing wellness programs. This ensures greater market reach, stronger customer loyalty, and a sustainable business model. Tapping into emerging healthcare trends, such as digital health tools and medication synchronization, enables pharmacies to stay ahead of the competition and increase their impact within the healthcare ecosystem.

Dr. Joshi concluded by emphasizing that achieving both Problem-Solution Fit and Product-Market Fit is critical for pharmacy success. These strategies not only improve patient outcomes but also lay the foundation for business sustainability and growth in an increasingly competitive healthcare market.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Dinesh Kumar, Associate Professor of the School of Pharmacy. He expressed his gratitude to the chief guests, faculty members, and students for their participation, making the session highly informative. Dr. Dinesh highlighted the collective efforts required to uphold the values discussed during the talk, which will contribute to shaping the future of healthcare delivery.
