Mandi Gobindgarh, 1 March: Desh Bhagat University celebrated National Science Day-2025 with great enthusiasm, organized by the Agrim Club of the Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the IPR Cell, in association with IQAC and supported by the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology.

Key Highlights:

Welcome and Theme: Prof. (Dr.) H.K. Sidhu welcomed the dignitaries and emphasized the importance of National Science Day and its 2025 theme, “Empowering Indian Youth for Global Leadership in Science and Innovation for Viksit Bharat.”

Chancellor’s Address: Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University, highlighted the role of science in society and the need for continuous innovation for the betterment of humanity.

Pro-Chancellor’s Message: Dr. Tajinder Kaur, Pro-Chancellor, encouraged students to preserve biodiversity, plant more trees, and raise awareness about maintaining a balanced ecosystem.

Vision for Developed India: Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, Vice President, spoke about the vision of a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India) by 2047 and the importance of young minds in science, technology, and innovation.

Expert Speakers:

Prof. (Dr.) P.K. Pati, Head of the Department of Biotechnology at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, discussed biodiversity, biotechnology, and bio-economics.
Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Research Scholar at Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, talked about entrepreneurial success in science and technology.
