Aim and Objective:

Promote Collaboration: To promote collaboration between the academic and industrial sectors
in the field of pharmaceutical research.
Advance Pharmacy Education: To advance pharmacy education and research, ultimately
benefiting society.
Bridge the Gap: To bridge the gap between industry and academia, boosting training,
entrepreneurship, and infrastructure development.
Recognize Contributions: To recognize the contributions of Professor Mahadeva Lal Schroff,
known as the Father of Indian Pharmacy Education.

Placebo Club, Faculty of Pharmacy, Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh came together
to celebrate “National Pharmacy Education Day” on the theme of ‘Entrepreneurship &
Startups in Pharma and Pharmacy

Practice: Encouraging Innovation, Incubation Centers
and Pharmaceutical Startups’, on 6 th March, 2025. It commemorates the 121th birth
anniversary of Professor Mahadeva Lal Schroff, a pioneer in pharmacy education in India. The
day aims to recognize his contributions to establishing pharmacy education in the country. The
main objective of the activity was to foster innovation, incubation, and pharmaceutical startups.
On this occasion students and faculty members of School of Pharmacy, S. Lal Singh Memorial
College of Pharmacy
and Mata Jarnail K College of Pharmacy were engaged in activities on
theme Entrepreneurship & Startups in

Pharma and Pharmacy Practice: Encouraging Innovation,
Incubation Centers and Pharmaceutical Startups including Pharma Shark tank and Pharmaceutical
Product Innovation Challenge. On this occasion three expert talks were organized by Faculty of
Pharmacy. All the students participated with great enthusiasm and energy.
The event was inaugurated by Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor Desh Bhagat University and welcome
address was given by Dr. Puja Gulati, Principal, School of Pharmacy. She Welcomed our chief

and pharmacy entrepreneurs which give Enhanced understanding of the opportunities and
challenges in pharma and pharmacy startups, Inspiration and guidance for aspiring pharma and
pharmacy entrepreneurs.

At the end of the event, Dr. Shailesh Kumar Gupta Principal of S. Lal Singh Memorial College of
Pharmacy, Desh Bhagat University, announced the results of Pharma Shark tank , Pharmaceutical
Product Innovation Challenge and vote of thanks was given by Ms. Khushpal Principal of Mata
Jarnail K College of Pharmacy.

Pro Chancellor, Dr. Tejinder Kaur congratulated Staff, students and members of Placebo Club
for successful conduct of the event.

Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Abhijit Joshi Sir acknowledged and appreciated the efforts put in by
students of Faculty of Pharmacy. He appreciated efforts of Placebo club and conveyed best
wishes to organize these types of activities in future as well.

Outcomes of the events:
  1. Networking opportunities: Provided a platform for pharmacy professionals, educators, and
    students to connect, share ideas, and collaborate.
