DBU NCC Cadets Visits To Old Age Home & Cleanliness Drive

On the occasion of NCC Day, 58 cadets from Desh Bhagat University (DBU) representing the Army Wing, Air Wing, and Navy Wing embarked on a meaningful mission. They visited the Sant Amar Singh Ji Namdhari Old Age Home in Bassi Pathana, where they participated in a cleanliness drive and interacted with the elderly residents.

Guidance & Support

This noble initiative was carried out under the guidance and leadership of:

  • DBU’s Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh
  • Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur

The cadets were accompanied by:

  • Dr. Ajaypal Singh, DBU NCC Coordinator
  • Gurjit Singh Pandher, CTO

Encouragement from DBU Leadership

  • Chancellor’s Advisor Dr. Virendra Singh and Vice President Dr. Harsh Sadawarti actively encouraged the cadets to engage in the program, reinforcing the importance of social responsibility.

Welcoming the Cadets at the Old Age Home

The visit began with a warm reception from:

  • Mr. Sahil Raina, President of the Old Age Home, who welcomed the DBU NCC Unit and shared the institution’s journey, challenges, and achievements in providing care and comfort to the elderly.
  • Mr. Raina also honored the DBU NCC Unit with a commemorative memento in recognition of their efforts.

The Cadets’ Pledge & Social Values

During the visit, the cadets took a solemn pledge to:

  • Always support and care for their parents and elders, ensuring they are never left alone.
  • Promote the values of respect and service toward the elderly.

This pledge emphasized the importance of familial responsibility and highlighted the cadets’ commitment to serving the community.

Cleanliness Drive for Hygiene & Environmental Awareness

In addition to the heartfelt interactions with the elderly, the cadets conducted a cleanliness drive at the Old Age Home, where they:

  • Cleaned the premises, promoting hygiene.
  • Raised awareness about environmental responsibility by ensuring a clean and safe environment for the residents.

A Spiritual Experience: Visit to Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib

On their return, the cadets visited Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib, where they:

  • Offered prayers, connecting spiritually to the occasion.
  • Learned about the historical significance of the site, enhancing their understanding of its importance.

DBU’s Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh and Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur commended the cadets for their dedicated efforts and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to:
