Community Outreach Health Awareness Activities By DBAC&H
Desh Bhagat Ayurvedic College & Hospital (DBAC&H) recently organized a series of Community Outreach Health Awareness activities as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. The event was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Kulbushan (Director, DBAC&H) and Dr. Jyoti H. Dhami (Medical Superintendent, DBAC&H).consultants from DBAC&H conducted field visits to spread health awareness and promote healthy living.
Key Activities
Field Visits:
Target Areas: Consultants visited various catchment villages, including Machhrai Kalan, Rajgarh Channa, Bhambri, Patton, Alipur, Majra, Baraichan, Sherpur Majra, Tibbi, Raiawal, Malowal, Khanaura, Bhagwanpura, and Dhangheri.
Audience: Interactions were held with MGNREGA workers, primary school children, local villagers, and daily wage earners.
Health Awareness Talks:
Consultants Involved:
Dr. Prachi Sharma (Pediatrician): Addressed nutritional requirements, proper diet, deworming, and other health-related issues to school children.
Dr. Sanamika (Eye/ENT Specialist): Provided awareness about eye and ENT diseases, stressing the importance of timely reporting of vision and hearing issues.
Dr. Urvi (Panchakarma Specialist): Educated the community about chronic joint conditions like arthritis and the benefits of Panchakarma therapies.
Dr. Poonam (General Surgeon): Discussed treatment options for piles, fistula, and fissures through Ayurvedic surgery (Ksharsutra), emphasizing non-invasive pain relief.
Objectives & Messages
Health and Nutrition Awareness:
The consultants aimed to raise awareness about health, nutrition, and early disease identification.
Emphasis was placed on the availability of various facilities and services at DBAC&H and the benefits of Ayurveda in managing chronic diseases, boosting immunity, and improving general health.
Collaborative Approach:
Dr. Zora Singh (Chancellor) and Dr. Tajinder Kaur (Pro-Chancellor) highlighted the need for a unified effort in combating diseases. They stressed the importance of collaboration across different medical sectors—be it private or public, urban or rural, allopathic or traditional medicine—to make a significant impact on community health.
Main Objective:
The primary goal of the awareness drive was to ensure timely healthcare access, preventing minor health issues from escalating into serious conditions.
