Aim

To promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and startup development among students by providing exposure to emerging technologies, expert guidance, and opportunities to transform innovative ideas into practical projects.

Objectives

  • To encourage innovative thinking and entrepreneurial skills among students.
  • To provide awareness of emerging technologies and startup opportunities.
  • To guide students in converting innovative ideas into practical projects and prototypes.
  • To facilitate interaction with experts, mentors, and Innovation Ambassadors.
  • To encourage students to become creative problem-solvers and future entrepreneurs.

Day 1 – Expert Session

The first day of the Startup Summit featured an insightful session by Mr. Abhishek Mehta, an accomplished Robotics and Innovation Educator, Trainer, and Mentor with extensive experience in Robotics, Emerging Technologies, Startups, and Innovation.

During the session, emphasis was placed on innovation, ideation, entrepreneurship, and transforming innovative concepts into practical projects and startup opportunities. The speaker encouraged students to move beyond being technology users and develop themselves as creators, innovators, and problem-solvers.

The session provided participants with valuable insights into how an initial idea can be developed into a working prototype and subsequently transformed into an impactful innovation or entrepreneurial venture. His practical experience and interaction with students made the session highly informative and engaging.

The session concluded with an emphasis on developing an innovative and entrepreneurial mindset among students and encouraging them to explore emerging technologies for solving real-world problems.

Day-2

The second day of the Two-Day Startup Summit featured an expert session by Dr. Tulika Mehta, an experienced entrepreneur, innovation mentor, and technology professional. She is the Founder Director of Kaizen Systems and has significant experience in promoting entrepreneurship, innovation, and technology-driven ventures.

During the session, Dr. Mehta provided valuable insights into the startup journey, idea generation, innovation, technology adoption, and entrepreneurship. She encouraged participants to identify real-world problems, develop innovative solutions, and explore opportunities to convert their ideas into viable products and startups.

The session was highly informative and interactive, providing students with practical guidance on developing innovative ideas, understanding the startup ecosystem, seeking mentorship, and taking the initial steps towards entrepreneurship.

The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks. Sincere gratitude was extended to our respected principal, Dr. Puja Gulati, for her constant support, encouragement, and guidance in making the event successful. Special thanks were also conveyed to the esteemed speakers, Mr. Abhishek Mehta and Dr. Tulika Mehta, for sharing their valuable knowledge and expertise.

The respected Chancellor, Dr. Zora Singh, Pro-Chancellor, Dr. Tajinder Kaur, and Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, congratulated all the faculty members for organizing such an informative and impactful programme. They appreciated the sincere efforts and active involvement of the faculty members in successfully conducting the event and encouraged them to continue organizing such meaningful and innovative programmes for the overall development of the students.

Conclusion

The Two-Day Startup Summit organized by the Placebo Club, Faculty of Pharmacy, in collaboration with IIC and IQAC, Desh Bhagat University, successfully provided students with valuable exposure to innovation, entrepreneurship, emerging technologies, and startup development. The expert sessions by Mr. Abhishek Mehta and Dr. Tulika Mehta offered practical insights into ideation, technology, product development, mentorship, and entrepreneurship. The event encouraged participants to think creatively and explore innovative solutions to real-world problems.
