Awareness programme on CPR
Placebo Club, School of Pharmacy, Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh organized the “NBEMS Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Awareness program” on 6th December 2023. As requested by NBEMS that is National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences to Pharmacy Council of India, which directed to organize an awareness programme on CPR throughout India in various Pharmacy institutes/Universities, to raise awareness about CPR and to provide valuable information about how to perform it correctly. Dr. Jagjit Singh Jagdev and Dr. Rajan (Medical Officers) from District Hospital Fatehgarh sahib were also present. Dr. Jagjit Singh Jagdev was diputed by NBEMS as a volunteer doctor to answer the queries of the participants regarding CPR. Dr. Jagjit Singh Jagdev elucidated the CPR process on a mannequin and provided practical training. The session was incredibly informative and interactive, all the participants and faculty members acquired a substantial amount of knowledge from this event. During the session students inquired about CPR and activally engaged in hands-on CPR practice. Students of School of Pharmacy, Desh Bhagat Dental College and Hospital, Desh Bhagat Ayurveda College and Hospital and S. Lal Singh Memorial College of Pharmacy, Desh Bhagat University were present in this event. Students and faculty members of School of pharmacy, Desh Bhagat University participated with full enthusiasm.
- Welcome address given by Ms. Oshina, Assistant Professor School of Pharmacy. All the faculty members and students worked hard for the success of this activity.
- Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor and Dr. Tajinder Kaur, Pro Chancellor congratulated the faculty and students and motivated them to organize such events.
- At the end of the event, Dr. Puja Gulati Principal, School of Pharmacy delivered a vote of thanks to all medical professionals, students and faculty members.
Outcomes:
- The knowledge of students had increased regarding CPR and gained valuable information about how and when to perform it correctly.
