World Pharmacist Week is to salute the dedication of Pharmacists for their contribution. S. Lal
Singh Memorial college of Pharmacy, Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh in
collaboration with Innovative Institutional Council, Desh Bhagat University organized a
National Pharmacy Week from 02 Nov. 2023 to 07 th Nov.2023. College organized Rangoli
competition, Poster competition, Creative Art and model making competition on different
themes. The objective of these competitions was to create awareness among students and faculty
about importance of the day and to highlight the role of Pharmacists in our life. All students
participated in the event with full enthusiasm. On the last day of celebration, Dr. Suresh Kumar
Professor, Hon’ble Secretary APTI, Punjab State Branch, Department of Pharmaceutical
Sciences and Drug Research, Punjabi University Patiala, Punjab delivered an expert talk on the
topic “ Proud to be a Pharmacist”. He shared information regarding Pharmacist’s Role. Dr.
Suresh Kumar described the importance and role of pharmacist in medical field. All faculty
members and students attended the guest lecture.
Dr. Zora Singh, Hon’ble Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University gave the opening address of the
programme. Also, Ms. Paramjeet Kaur, Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacy delivered
the welcome note and vote of thanks. Medals & certificates were awarded to the winners by Dr.
Suresh Kumar, Dr. L.S. Bedi (Dean Academic) and Dr. J.K. Sharma (Director IEDC).
Hon’ble Vice Chancellor and Pro-Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University gave best wishes to the
whole team to conduct these types of events in future.
Outcomes:
These types of lectures had increased the knowledge of students regarding pharmaceutical
activity.
