Department of Fashion

Program Educational Objectives (PEO’S) – 

PEO1: Confident young Entrepreneur or Designer with their indigenous designs. 

PEO2: Garment Industry Professional or freelance consultant who will excel in the job responsibility entrusted on him or her.

PEO3: Confident and comprehensive academician having completed postgraduate design program with strong portfolio and sharing the acquired knowledge as Designer or trainer in organizations and fashion institutes respectively. 

Program Specific Outcomes (PSO’S)

PSO1: The students will have the basic foundation in designing and have the ability to visually represent it by illustrations, photographs, graphics and visual display of merchandise.

PSO2: The students will be able to convert their designs into a garment using appropriate construction techniques.

PSO3: The student will have a strong foundation and understanding of the garment manufacturing process and procedures.

Program Outcomes (PO’S)

PO1: Knowledge of different Fashion Technologies: Knowledge of different textiles, fashion trends, pattern, digital technology, artistic elements and advanced experimentations.

PO2: Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, research literature, and analyze fashion trends historically as well as in modern perspectives to arrive at substantiated conclusions using techniques of research, ideas, field survey.

PO3: Development of solutions: Solutions are developed for issues or problems related to fashion so that curriculum can be designed in a way that academics, professionals, critics, researchers and students can be benefited.

PO4: Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate research techniques and resources to discover new research and give solutions to the fashion problems with an understanding of the limitations.

PO5: Different art techniques: Understanding of applicable techniques and procedures in a multiplicity of design techniques. 

PO6: Historical and contemporary perspectives: Knowledge of varied fashion trends, history of varied fabrics & patterns and techniques from diverse historical and contemporary contexts. 

PO7: Analyses of different Fashion Trends: Fashion history across ethos and period, numerous perspectives, understanding of ethnic perspective.

PO8: Creativity: Inspire towards creative and experimentations.  

PO9: Employability: Offer wide possibilities of employability in the field of fabric designing, stitching, knitwear, textile, printing and marketing.

PO10: Fashion & Society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess socio–cultural & political context and the consequent responsibilities towards the society.

PO11: Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to moral & professional ethics and responsibilities bounded by society.

PO12: Life- long learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of art field.
