Introduction

A one-day awareness event under the Swachh Bharat Mission was organized by the Faculty of Pharmacy, Desh Bhagat University, on 06 April  2026. The program aimed to promote cleanliness, environmental awareness, and responsible waste management among students and the community.

The event was conducted under the theme “Swabhav Swachhata, Sanskaar Swachhata,” emphasizing that cleanliness should be an inherent habit and an essential part of daily life and values.

Objectives of the Event

The key objectives of the program were:

1. To promote awareness about cleanliness and hygiene.
2. To encourage responsible waste management practices.
3. To instill environmental consciousness among students.
4. To develop a sense of social responsibility and civic duty.
5. To motivate students to actively participate in national initiatives like Swachh Bharat Mission.

Student Participation

Students of Pharm-D Students actively participated in the event. Faculty members also supported and guided the students to ensure smooth execution of all activities. The event witnessed enthusiastic involvement and teamwork among participants.

Activities Conducted

The following activities were organized as part of the event:

• Street Play (Skit): Students performed an impactful street play highlighting the importance of cleanliness, proper waste disposal, and environmental protection.
• Speech Competition: Participants delivered speeches focusing on cleanliness, environmental awareness, and the role of individuals in maintaining a clean society.
• Poster Presentation: Students presented creative posters depicting themes related to Swachh Bharat Mission, cleanliness drives, and sustainable practices.

Conclusion

The Swachh Bharat Mission Awareness Program organized by the Faculty of Pharmacy, Desh Bhagat University, was a successful and impactful initiative. The event effectively conveyed the message of cleanliness, environmental responsibility, and civic sense among students.

The theme “Swabhav Swachhata, Sanskaar Swachhata” was well reflected through the activities conducted. Such programs play a crucial role in shaping responsible citizens and promoting sustainable practices in society. The collaborative efforts of the Faculty of Pharmacy, IIC, and Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat contributed significantly to the success of the event.
