The School of Hotel Management and Tourism, Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh, successfully organized a Nukkad Natak (Street Play) on 15th October 2025 at Salani Village, highlighting the critical issue of food wastage and promoting responsible consumption habits among the local community.

The initiative, led by the students of the School, aimed to educate and sensitize villagers about the importance of minimizing food wastage, encouraging sustainable practices, and fostering a sense of social responsibility. The event created an engaging and impactful atmosphere through performance, interaction, and storytelling, leaving a lasting impression on all attendees.

The Nukkad Natak was conducted under the guidance of Hon’ble Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh and Hon’ble Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur, whose vision and encouragement continue to inspire Desh Bhagat University students to engage in meaningful community outreach initiatives.

The program also provided an opportunity for students to showcase their creativity, teamwork, and communication skills, reinforcing the university’s commitment to holistic learning beyond the classroom.
The successful execution of this awareness campaign was coordinated by Dr. Aman Sharma, Director, School of Hotel Management and Tourism, along with the support of faculty members, ensuring the initiative was both impactful and smoothly conducted.
