DBU Chancellor Announces Scholarships for Sri Lankan Students
Desh Bhagat University (DBU), NAAC A+ accredited, hosted Her Excellency Ms. Pradeepa Mahishini Colonne, Hon’ble High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to India, at its Mandi Gobindgarh campus.

The visit coincided with the celebration of Lohri, symbolising cultural warmth, gratitude and new beginnings, reflecting strong India–Sri Lanka ties.
The High Commissioner visited the International Centre for Buddhism and Interfaith Studies and appreciated DBU’s efforts to promote peace, compassion, harmony and interfaith dialogue.
Dr. Zora Singh, Hon’ble Chancellor, DBU, announced a special scholarship initiative for Sri Lankan students.

Scholarships include two full-fee scholarships for regular on-campus programmes and ten full scholarships for UGC-entitled online programmes.
Vice-Chancellor Dr. Harsh Sadawarti highlighted education as a bridge between nations and reaffirmed DBU’s commitment to academic collaboration with Sri Lanka.
Ms. Colonne appreciated the initiative and underlined the role of educational diplomacy in strengthening people-to-people ties.
The visit concluded with discussions on future academic partnerships, research collaboration and cultural exchange.
