Introduction
The Faculty of Pharmacy, Desh Bhagat University, through the PLACEBO CLUB, in collaboration with Max Super Speciality Hospital, Mohali, Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), and Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized an expert talk titled “Understanding Cardiovascular Disorders, Diagnosis, Pharmacotherapy and Patient-Centered Care through Real-World Clinical Cases” on 10 September 2026 at Mahapragya Seminar Hall.
The expert session was delivered by Dr. Anumeet Bagga, Senior Consultant – Cardiac Surgery (CTVS), Max Super Speciality Hospital, Mohali. The session was organized with the objective of providing students and faculty members with practical clinical insights into cardiovascular disorders and their management through real-world clinical cases.
About the Expert Speaker
Dr. Anumeet Bagga is a Senior Consultant in Cardiac Surgery (CTVS) at Max Super Speciality Hospital, Mohali. She has extensive clinical experience in cardiothoracic and vascular surgery and has previously served as Head of the Department of Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery at Government Medical College & Hospital, Patiala.
Her academic and professional qualifications include MBBS, MS (General Surgery), MCh (Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery), Fellowship in Endovascular Intervention, along with specialized training in Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) and ECMO.
Her areas of expertise include adult cardiac surgery, valve repair and replacement, congenital heart surgery, thoracic surgery, endovascular interventions, open vascular surgery, AV fistula creation and management, pericardiectomy, and emergency cardiac, thoracic and vascular trauma surgery.
Objectives of the Expert Talk
The major objectives of the session were:
- To enhance students’ understanding of common cardiovascular disorders and their clinical presentation.
- To provide practical insights into diagnosis and clinical decision-making in cardiovascular diseases.
- To understand the role of pharmacotherapy in cardiovascular disease management.
