The Hindi Department of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages at Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh, organized a vibrant Hindi Diwas celebration. The event featured a seminar, a lecture, a poster exhibition created by students, and the inauguration of a wall magazine.
Key Highlights of the Event:
- Patronage: The program was held under the esteemed patronage of the University Chancellor, Dr. Zora Singh, and Pro-Chancellor, Dr. Tajinder Kaur. It was graced by the presence of the Director of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages, Prof. Dr. Davinder Kumar Sharma.
- Guest Lecture: The event included a lecture by Dr. Chamkaur Singh from AS Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Khanna, who spoke on the “Importance of Hindi Language in Human Values.” He emphasized that Hindi preserves human values and urged everyone to learn and speak the language to keep this tradition alive.
- Speech by Hindi Department Head: Prof. Ajaypal Singh Shekhawat, Head of the Hindi Department, conducted the stage and delivered a speech on the global significance of Hindi. He highlighted that Hindi is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world, a symbol of Indian culture and civilization, and a promoter of unity and integrity in the country.
- Student Participation: Students Nikita, Lovepreet Kaur, Preet Kaur, and Pooja shared their thoughts on the importance of Hindi on the occasion.
Special Exhibits:
- Poster Exhibition: A creative exhibition of posters made by students was held during the event, showcasing their artistic expression of Hindi Diwas.
- Wall Magazine Inauguration: A wall magazine, directed by Prof. Kulbhushan Kumar, was inaugurated by the Chancellor, Pro-Chancellor, and Director, adding a significant milestone to the celebration.

Prof. Ram Singh Gurna concluded the event by expressing heartfelt gratitude. The event was coordinated by Dr. Arvinder Kaur.
