The Placebo Club at S. Lal Singh Memorial College of Pharmacy held an event on campus to raise awareness of workplace sexual harassment of women in partnership with the women’s grievance cell at Desh Bhagat University in Mandi Gobindgarh. In front of university staff, the students gave a five-minute play. The theme of the skit was “Speak Up.”

The main objective of this event was to curb violence against women, they must have the courage to speak up for themselves. The number of incidents of harassment against women has increased during the last few years. The play highlighted how women casually ignore these issues but later realise it was a very big mistake. Students used slogans to grab the attention of people. A lot of people gathered, and everyone watched the skit with keen interest.
Honorable Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh inaugurated the program. He said that women should never consider themselves weak. They should always raise their voice against exploitation. These types of programs create awareness among the people, which helps in stopping the exploitation of women.

The students of the S. Lal Singh Memorial College of Pharmacy participated in this activity with great enthusiasm. The participants were awarded the certificates. At the end of the event, Prof. B. D. Dhiman, Principal, S. Lal Singh Memorial College of Pharmacy, delivered a vote of thanks to all the participants, students, and faculty.

Pro Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur congratulated staff, students, and members of the Placebo Club for the successful conduct of the event. Vice Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh acknowledged and appreciated the efforts put in by students of the Faculty of Pharmacy. He praised the Placebo Club and the Women’s Grievance Cell for their efforts and gave them his best wishes for future events.
