Desh Bhagat University Signed MoU with Dhurakij Pundit University,Thailand

Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh, has inked an MoU with Dhurakij Pundit University, Bangkok, Thailand, on December 8, 2022, as part of its attempt to keep up with the world. The representatives of Dhurakij Pundit University were warmly welcomed by vice president Dr. Harsh Sadawarti and other dignitaries of the university. They paid tribute to revered Sardar Lal Singh in the presence of the honourable Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University, Dr. Zora Singh, along with Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur. The DPU delegation, including Mr. Siridech Kumsuprom, assistant vice-president for strategic alliances, dean, college of innovation business and accounting (CIBA), director of a doctor of business administration programme (DBA), Mr. Atit Koirala, lecturer at DPU and head of the South Asia market for strategic alliances, and Mr. Phanit Phea, lecturer and team member for strategic alliances, were escorted by the NCC cadets in traditional attire.

The event started with a floral welcome and lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by the national anthems of Thailand and Desh Bhagat University. The MoU was signed in accordance with the NEP-2020 requirements for teaming up with overseas universities. This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by the Honourable Chancellor, Dr. Zora Singh, and Mr. Siridech Kumsuprom, assistant vice president for strategic alliances, dean of the college of innovation business and accounting (CIBA), and director of a Doctor of Business Administration programme (DBA) . The MoU was signed in the presence of Mr. Atit Koirala, lecturer at DPU and Head of South Asia Market for Strategic Alliance, and Mr. Phanit Phea, lecturer and team member for Strategic Alliance, as well as Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur, Vice Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh, ,Vice President Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, Dean of Academics Dr. L.S. Bedi, and other dignitaries of Desh Bhagat University. The two universities have agreed to foster a collaborative relationship through activities such as student and faculty exchanges; joint research activities and publications; participation in seminars and academic meetings; exchange of academic materials and other information; special short-term and other academic programmes; professional development and training workshops for the social work, education, and human service sectors; quality assurance/accreditation programmes; and special short-term and other academic programmes. The university will work under 2+2, 3+1 and 2+1+1 schemes. Under which students, after taking initial education in Desh Bhagat University, will complete further education in DPU, Thailand.

A cultural programme was also organized by the students on this occasion, in which glimpses of Indian culture were presented. The delegation from Dhurakij Pundit University thoroughly enjoyed the performances. Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University, stated that this MoU will allow Desh Bhagat University students to engage and study in Thailand for wider exposure, and that students from Thailand will benefit from DBU India specialists. The ceremony was concluded with a vote of thanks by Vice-president Dr. Harsh Sadawarti.
