A one-day industrial event was organized by the Faculty of Pharmacy on 19th January 2026. The program took place under the supervision of    Dr. Shafkat, Dr. Imtiyaz, along with active support from faculty members of the School of Pharmacy.
An industrial visit to Salus Pharmaceuticals, Baddi was organized for the students of B. Pharm 8th Semester and B. Pharm 6th Semester as part of the academic curriculum. The main objective of the visit was to provide practical exposure to pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, quality control systems, and regulatory compliance followed in the industry. Such visits help bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world pharmaceutical practices.

Objectives of the Event

The main objectives of the program were:

  1. To understand large-scale pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
  2. To observe Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in operation.
  3. To gain knowledge about quality control and quality assurance procedures.
  4. To understand documentation and regulatory requirements in the pharmaceutical industry.
  5. To interact with industry professionals and understand career opportunities.

Participants

Students from B. Pharm 6th Sem, B. Pharm 8th Sem actively participated in the event with great enthusiasm. Faculty members of the School of Pharmacy and S. Lal Singh Memorial college of Pharmacy played a vital role in coordinating and ensuring the smooth conduct of all activities.

Overview of the Industry

The students visited Salus Pharmaceuticals, a well-established pharmaceutical company engaged in the manufacturing of tablets, capsules, syrups, and injectable formulations. The company operates under strict GMP guidelines and follows regulatory standards set by national and international authorities.

The facility included:

  • Production Department
  • Quality Control Laboratory
  • Quality Assurance Section
  • Packaging Unit
  • Warehouse and Storage Area

Outcomes of the Event

  1. Gained practical exposure to pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
