She highlighted the vital role of educators in nurturing India’s innovation ecosystem and strengthening design thinking at the school level.

The workshop was jointly organized by DoSEL, AICTE, MIC, with support from the Wadhwani Foundation.
The programme aimed to build innovation, creativity, design thinking, and entrepreneurship skills among DEOs and DIET members in alignment with NEP 2020.
Certificates of Participation were presented by Ms. Garima Rohela along with senior academic leaders from SCERT Punjab and DBU.

DBU leadership, including the Chancellor, Pro-Chancellor, and Vice Chancellor, congratulated the organizing team and expressed gratitude to the Ministry.

Mandi Gobindgarh: The two-day Capacity Building Workshop on Innovation, Design and Entrepreneurship (IDE) successfully concluded at Desh Bhagat University with a formal Closing Ceremony that highlighted the programme’s impact through reflections, feedback, and key takeaways from participants. The event was graced by Ms. Garima Rohela, Director Finance, AICTE, New Delhi, who attended as the Chief Guest. In her address, Ms. Rohela praised DBU for successfully hosting the workshop and emphasized the crucial role of educators in strengthening India’s innovation ecosystem. She noted that fostering design thinking and innovation at the school level is a strategic investment toward building a resilient and globally competitive future.
Jointly organized by the Department of School Education & Literacy, AICTE, and the Ministry of Education Innovation Cell (MIC), with support from the Wadhwani Foundation, the programme aimed to equip District Education Officers and DIET members with skills in innovation, creativity, design thinking, and entrepreneurship in alignment with NEP 2020. Certificates of Participation were presented to all attendees by Ms. Rohela, along with Sh. Rajeev Kumar, Assistant Director, AQT SCERT Punjab, Prof. Buta Singh Sidhu, Pro Vice Chancellor (Research & Innovation), and Prof. Amarjit Singh, Pro Vice Chancellor (Academics), DBU.
