A One-Day National Seminar on Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji was organized at Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh, as part of Punjab Government’s programmes marking the 350th Martyrdom Day of the Guru.
The event was held under the leadership of Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh and Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tejinder Kaur.
Prof. H. K. Sidhu welcomed scholars and guests; Dr. Ram Singh Gurna introduced the seminar’s central themes.

In his inaugural address, Dr. Zora Singh highlighted the global remembrance of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and the sacrifices of Bhai Dyal Ji, Bhai Mati Das Ji, and Bhai Sati Das Ji.
Keynote speaker Prof. Kapil Kumar reinterpreted modern nationalism and warned against forces that seek to disrupt national unity.

Dr. Amarjeet Singh emphasized Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji as the “Chadar of Sarishti,” noting his martyrdom is commemorated in over 142 countries.
Prof. Pritpal Singh spoke on Sikh philosophy, stressing universal brotherhood, peace, and equality.
Prof. Harjinder Pal Singh Walia highlighted the Guru’s unparalleled interfaith sacrifice for religious freedom.




Chief Guest Padma Shri Dr. Jagjit Singh Dardi shared spiritual insights, historical episodes, and urged youth to uphold Sikh values; a book “Life and Journey with Maps” by Col. Dalbinder Singh Grewal was released.




Two parallel technical sessions were chaired by Prof. Param Bakshish Sidhu and Dr. Ajay Gupta, with over 25 scholars presenting papers.

Lead lectures were delivered by Prof. Gurmit Singh Sidhu and Prof. Hardev Singh.
The Valedictory Session was presided over by Col. Dr. Dalvinder Singh Grewal, with formal thanks extended by Dr. Surjit Kaur Patheja.

Proceedings were conducted by Dr. Renu Sharma, Dr. Navninder Grewal, and Prof. Dharminder Singh.

Dalbinder Singh Grewal was also released. Technical sessions saw over 25 scholars presenting diverse research, followed by a valedictory session summarizing the seminar’s rich insights. The event concluded with formal acknowledgments and conduct of proceedings by university faculty members.
