Desh Bhagat University celebrated India’s 77th Republic Day with patriotic zeal and enthusiasm at Mandi Gobindgarh.

The समारोह began with floral tributes to Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh and homage to Sardar Lal Singh, a revered freedom fighter and inspiration to the university, who was also associated with Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.

Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh and Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur led the ceremony by hoisting the National Flag.

NCC cadets presented a disciplined salute to the Tricolour following the flag hoisting.
A grand parade by the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings was conducted under the leadership of Lieutenant Tabish Ali Khan and Sub-Lieutenant Chamanpreet Kaur.

President Dr. Sandeep Singh urged youth to rise above caste and religious differences and serve the nation through quality education.

Vice Chancellor Dr. Harsh Sadawarti highlighted national pride, constitutional values, and youth empowerment, noting that true freedom was realized with the adoption of the Constitution on January 26, 1950.

The stage proceedings were conducted by Professor Dr. Ajaypal Singh, who motivated the audience through patriotic poetry and reflections on constitutional duties.

The event featured speeches and cultural performances paying tribute to India’s democratic journey.
Over 500 students, along with senior officials, faculty, wardens, and staff members, participated enthusiastically in the celebration.
