Desh Bhagat University’s Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences marked International Girl Child Day with a gender sensitization programme, organized in collaboration with the Agrim Club, Women Grievance Cell/ICC, and Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Cell. Held on October 10 in Mandi Gobindgarh, the event began with a ceremonial lamp lighting and Saraswati Puja, graced by Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh and Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur. Dr. H.K. Sidhu welcomed attendees and emphasized the importance of empowering the girl child. The programme included poignant student performances—a dance, a poem, and a speech—that highlighted the value, rights, and potential of girls. Dr. Sidhu also delivered the Vote of Thanks, acknowledging all contributors. The event served as a meaningful platform to promote gender equality and the empowerment of girls in society.
