Introduction
The School of Hotel Management and Tourism, Desh Bhagat University, successfully organized a guest lecture at Government Senior Secondary School, Tibbi on 27th September 2025. The session was designed to introduce students to the dynamic and fast-growing field of Hospitality and Tourism, highlighting its global opportunities, cultural impact, and career prospects.

Dr. Rupinder Kaur – An eminent academician in hospitality studies, delivered a lecture on “Challenges and Trends in Hospitality and Tourism.” She emphasized the importance of sustainable practices, the growing role of digitalization, and the need for cultural sensitivity in service delivery. Her address encouraged students to understand the evolving trends and future opportunities in the sector.

Ms. Srishti – A professional from the tourism industry, spoke on “Careers in the Hospitality and Tourism Industry.” She guided students about diverse career paths including hotel management, travel consultancy, event management, and culinary arts. She stressed upon the role of soft skills, communication, and global awareness as essential tools for success.
Guidance and Leadership
The program was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Aman Sharma, Director, School of Hotel Management and Tourism, whose leadership continues to inspire both students and faculty towards academic excellence and industry-oriented learning.
Special acknowledgment goes to Mr. R.K. Sharma, Principal of Government Senior Secondary School, Tibbi, for his support and keen interest in encouraging students towards professional education. The Principal also expressed his willingness to arrange a visit of school students to Desh Bhagat University, which will further strengthen their exposure and may open pathways for future admissions in hospitality and tourism programs.
The successful coordination of the event was made possible through the active support of Mr. Ram Sir, who collaborated with our team in arranging and managing the guest lecture at the school.
