Desh Bhagat University (DBU) celebrated India’s 79th Independence Day on 16 August 2025 with patriotic enthusiasm at its Mandi Gobindgarh campus. The event began with the hoisting of the national flag by Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh, accompanied by university leadership and a large gathering of students, faculty, and staff. A special tribute was paid to freedom fighter Sardar Lal Singh, and a spirited NCC parade led by Dr. Ajaypal Shekhawat added color to the celebration. The university reiterated its commitment to academic and social excellence. Simultaneously, DBU participated in a government-led function at Amloh themed “Yudh Nashian Virudh,” highlighting state achievements and cultural diversity. DBU’s international students performed traditional Bhangra, enhancing the global spirit of the event. Several university members, including Dr. Prabhjot Singh, Dr. Khushboo Bansal, and Satyam Kumar, were honored for their contributions in education and social service. The efforts of DBU students and staff were lauded for their compelling presentations, with an additional NCC parade led by Sub Lt. Chamanpreet Kaur rounding off the vibrant festivities.
