DBU Showcases Youth-Led Civic Engagement at ‘Yuva Connect’ VC Meet

Showcase DBU’s youth-led civic engagement initiatives under the Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect Program

  • MY Bharat Registration Drive – Over 2,000 students enrolled
  • Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament – Role reversal activity with villagers as MPs and students as bureaucrats
  • Debates and Yuva Samvad – Topics included clean politics and climate action
  • Nasha Mukt Campus Lab – Sensitized 500+ students about drug abuse
  • Nyay Ki Pathshala – Legal literacy campaign reached 2,500+ rural residents
  • Vote Verse – Voter Awareness Carnival – Included EVM simulation and pledge wall
  • Screening of “Sardar @150” – Followed by expert panel discussions
  • Mass Viksit Bharat Shapath – Pledge ceremony for nation-building

At the ‘Yuva Connect’ video conference chaired by Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and UT Administrator Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, Vice Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University, presented the university’s exemplary youth engagement initiatives. Under the Government of India’s Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect Program, DBU showcased a series of impactful programs including the MY Bharat Registration Drive, Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament, Yuva Samvad sessions, Nasha Mukt Campus Lab, and the legal literacy initiative Nyay Ki Pathshala, among others. These events, hosted at DBU’s tech-enabled Central Auditorium, emphasized civic participation, nation-building, and social responsibility. The Governor commended DBU’s proactive and scalable model, urging other institutions to replicate such practices and enhance youth participation through platforms like My Bharat.
