Desh Bhagat University (DBU) and Desh Bhagat Global School celebrated International Yoga Day on 21st June with remarkable enthusiasm and unity. The theme for this year, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” emphasized the importance of harmony between personal well-being and planetary sustainability. The celebrations at DBU commenced at 6:00 AM at the Student Centre, attracting around 500 participants including students, faculty, non-teaching staff, and esteemed guests. The event opened with stage arrangements and a welcome speech by Dr. Anil Joshi from the Department of Swasthavritta, followed by a live telecast of the Prime Minister of India’s address at 7:00 AM. A serene prayer set the tone for a revitalizing yoga session, led by an expert from CM di Yogshala who guided attendees through a series of yoga asanas and breathing techniques. The event concluded with a Valedictory Session, singing of the National Anthem, and a Tree Plantation Ceremony, reinforcing the university’s dedication to environmental consciousness. Notable dignitaries such as Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh, Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur, Dr. Kulbhushan, Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Amarjit Singh, and Registrar Mr. Surinder Kapoor graced the occasion. Government representatives including Mr. Chetan Bunger (SDM, Amloh) and Mr. Harpal Singh (Naib Tehsildar) were also present, with the latter honoring Dr. Zora Singh on behalf of the sub-division administration.
