B.Sc. IT | M.Sc. Information Technology (IT)

The term ‘Information Technology’ is applied to the accessibility, constancy and security of data and IT services in business, industry or an organization. The revolution of information technology has metamorphosed the modern life with unimaginable innovations in telecommunication systems, cyber security, database management, game design and development, robotics, e-commerce systems, enterprise informatics and computer communication systems. It exaggerated the demand of information technology (IT) professionals to apply, organize and handle various technologies, assess obtainable and budding technologies, distinguish user requirements and create user-friendly interactions in the relevant industry. To cope with the emerging intricacies in information related technicalities, the undergraduate and postgraduate courses of B.Sc. Information Technology or B.Sc. IT and M.Sc. Information Technology or M.Sc. IT have been introduced in the professional education curriculum of the nation.

B.Sc. Information Technology and M.Sc. Information Technology: Being an enthusiastic chaser of technological education at international norms, Desh Bhagat University School of Information Technology has introduced B.Sc. IT and M.Sc . IT courses to sprout capable IT professionals enriched with an extra-edge to keep them ahead of prevalent competition in the industry. The course curriculum of B.Sc. IT and M.Sc. IT includes various specialized subjects such as Information Technology Management, IT Infrastructure Management, Server Administration and Maintenance, Strategic Information Management, Database Administration, Network Engineering 1, Virtualization and Cloud Computing, Business and Technical Communications, Computer System, Data Communications and Computer Networks, Computer and Network Security, Wireless Networks Information Technology Management, Human Computer Interaction, Wireless Networks and Web Based Information Systems.

Along with ingraining theoretical perfection in the students, the department is committed towards instilling practical aptitudes in the students. For this purpose, the department has been enriched with sophisticated computer labs, Wi-Fi connectivity, technically equipped classrooms and a digital library. Time to time industrial visits to various IT parks and renowned IT organizations have been conducted to saturate industrial & professional exposure to the students.

Program: Master of Science in Information Technology

Program Outcomes

PO1. Computer Science and Technology Knowledge: Apply the knowledge of Computer science, and fundamentals, specialization to the solution of complex coding problems.

PO2. Problem formulate and Identifications: Identify, formulate, research literature of Computer Language   and analyze Computer oriented problems to arrive at substantiated conclusions using first principles of programming Language, natural, and Computer science.

PO3.Design/development of Software Product: Design solutions for complex algorithmic problems and design system components, processes to meet the specifications with consideration for the multidisciplinary environmental considerations.

PO4. Analysis of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge including design of experiments, Coding and Testing analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions for the real life or real time problems.

PO5. Modern Simulators and tools usage: To create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern Simulators and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex algorithm, simulations activities with an understanding of the limitations.

PO6. Professional ability: To focus the ability to design and develop hardware and software based systems, evaluate and recognize potential risks and provide creative solutions.

PO7. Successful Career and Entrepreneurship: Gain knowledge in diverse areas of Computer Science and experience an environment conducive in cultivating skills for successful career, entrepreneurship and higher studies.

PO8. Proficient Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the Computer practice.

PO9.Individual and Project team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in teams, from preliminary investigation to maintenance phases in a project development.

PEO1: To facilitate in development of strong basic fundamentals of Computer Applications that fit as a perfect foundation towards a beginning a professional career in industry, entrepreneurship and thereby progress in chosen career through habit of continuous learning.

PEO2: To develop programming skills in learners by using fundamental knowledge of computer science in composing new designs and solutions to complex real life problems using existing and/or novel technologies.

PEO3: To equip learners with abilities of evaluating problems to formulate in assessment of their designs and solutions thereby.

PEO4: To inculcate comprehensive communication ability that is useful during professional communication and leading of teams in future.

PEO5: To play a creative role during professional life through turning problems to opportunities and foster personal and organizational growth together with concrete ethics.
