The term ‘Kaya’ refers to human body and to the ‘digestive fire’, present in our digestive system. As per the recommendations of kaya chikitsa most of the diseases are caused due to the disproportion of this digestive fire and discrepancy in the amicability of tridosas- vata, pitta and kapha in the body. Kaya chikitsa is concerned with the provision of some procedures to create harmony between these three dosas. Kaya chikitsa also encompasses the application of various prescriptions, medications and therapies to enhance the appropriate functioning of the main organs of human body. Being based on natural therapies and herbs Kaya chikitsa shows no negative symptoms and side effects on the patient. Thus, Kaya chikitsa concentrates on the analysis, preclusion and cure of various diseases like joint pain, skin problems, diabetes and numerous others.
