About the Department

The University School of Law was established in the year, 2013 under the aegis of Desh Bhagat University, duly approved by Bar Council of India. Justice imparting system is the foundation of every civilized nation. Law department formerly known as University School of Law is committed to play an important role in the legal system of Desh Bhagat University. Law graduates from this department are serving all over the country in the lower courts, High Courts and various high profile jobs in the Government’s departments.

The Department is always in action to create new opportunities for its students. The Department provides practical training to LL.B. and BALLB students. One full paper of final year includes compulsory participation in Moots along with the court visits. Special lectures by eminent Academicians, Judges and Senior Advocates which are compulsory as a part of curriculum, are delivered for the benefit of BALLB, LL.B. and LL.M students. The students being admitted in BALLB & LL.B. courses have to undergo internship annually. The Department arranges academic tours/Visits of the Students to Supreme Court/High Court/District Court/Jails/Lok Adalats etc as a part of the practical training programme. The department has a separate and well-furnished Moot Court Hall where every year various Seminars, Presentations and Moot Court Competition take place. 

Legal Aid Clinic-cum-Arbitration Centre as well as a Placement Cell are also functioning in the department in coordination with the DLSA. The Department organizes Legal Aid camps in the adjoining villages for the awareness of legal services among the Society by providing legal aid to the needy persons. Department also has excellent and well-equipped Library. The Department also possesses precious asset in the form of very knowledgeable, qualified and hardworking faculty.

Black pant and coat, white shirt along with tie/scarf on all formal occasions/functions i.e. moot courts, court visits, presentations, special lectures etc is the dress code. The girl students have option to wear this dress or white salwar kameez with white dupatta and black coat.
